Eddie Brown Tours loses Guild membership

Eddie Brown Tours Ltd has lost its membership of the Guild of British Coach Operators.

A statement from the Guild read: “Eddie Brown Tours Ltd’s membership of the Guild of British Coach Operators was terminated with effect from December 24, 2014 and it is no longer authorised to use our logo or to claim membership of the Guild.

“Eddie Brown Travel Ltd, a company registered on October 14, 2014, is not and never has been a member of the Guild of British Coach Operators. Any use by that company of our logo and references to Guild membership is unauthorised and we have written to the company to insist that they cease immediately.”

In the December 29, 2014 edition of the London Gazette, notice was given of a meeting of creditors of Eddie Brown Tours Ltd, which will be held on January 13 for the purposes of appointing a liquidator and a liquidation committee. Eddie Brown Tours Ltd went into receivership on December 23.

Eddie Brown Tours Ltd has Gary Priest and Deirdre Brown named as directors. Gary Priest, along with Andrew Knowles, are listed as Transport Managers for Eddie Brown Travel Ltd, for which Gary Priest is also listed as a Director.

As stated in CBW1168, Eddie Brown Tours Ltd and Eddie Brown Travel Ltd are not to be confused with Eddie Brown Coaches Ltd, a separate entity with Kevin Proctor as Director and Claire Alenius as Company Secretary.
