Edinburgh Bus Tours (EBT), the sightseeing operation run by Lothian Buses, has recorded its best ever year and said it has remained Scotland’s second most popular paid-for attraction.

According to the top 20 rankings published by the Moffat Centre, EBT attracted around 690,000 visitors in 2017, an increase of 85,000 from 2016.

Edinburgh Bus Tours operates from Waverley Bridge seven days a week, providing four different tour options. Each takes in the capital’s main attractions, from the castle and Old Town to the Royal Yacht Britannia and the three Forth bridges.

Nigel Serafini, Commercial Director at Lothian Buses, said: “We are delighted to celebrate another fantastic year for EBT. To see an extra 85,000 customer journeys across 2017 is a real testament to the dedicated and enthusiastic team at tours. They deliver a fantastic customer experience, rain or shine, for the thousands of visitors choosing to hop on a tour of our fascinating city each day.”
