Edwards Coaches celebrated its 90th anniversary in style with a gala dinner at the Hilton NEC, Birmingham attended by more than 350 top customers and suppliers.
In addition to an excursion to Stratford-upon-Avon, guests were treated to an overnight stay to thank them for their continued custom.
Customers travelled on seven of the 10 newly delivered Mercedes-Benz Tourismos. The
£2.75m investment will see the existing vehicles replaced on frontline tour work, some of which will be sold. The 13m tri-axle Tourismos each have 49 seats with a centre WC, wood-effect floor, Luxline seats with leather headrests and an onboard vacuum cleaner.
A charity raffle and collection was held. Prizes included nights away, champagne sets, theatre tickets and gift vouchers for Love2Shop (sic) and Edwards Coaches. Macmillan was confirmed as the firm’s charity of the year, although the exact sum raised remained to be confirmed as this issue went to press.
Jason Edwards told CBW: “It was a great privilege to see all our customers and suppliers at our 90th anniversary gala dinner. It was our honour to thank our guests for their continued support over the last nine decades. Our customers travelled in style on our new Mercedes-Benz Tourismo Coaches, another milestone in the company’s history.”
