Egged Bus System has ordered 43 Crossway LE Natural Power 12m vehicles from Iveco Bus which will be delivered by the beginning of December. Powered by Cursor 9 NP engines the 43-seaters with air-conditioning will complement what is a 200-strong fleet. With a total capacity of 1,260 litres (four tanks of 315 litres), the vehicle has a range of between 500 and 600km, depending on the type of use.

The Natural Power range of IVECO BUS is a proven mobility solution that respects the environment, using natural gas and biomethane, says the manufacturer. With natural gas, the levels of fine particle emissions are reduced to almost zero, and nitrogen oxide emissions are reduced by more than a third. The noise level is also reduced by half, offering exceptional operational silence for the driver, passengers and people nearby.

Egged Bus System has been operating regular routes in the northwest of the Netherlands since 2011, mainly to the north of Amsterdam. More than 40,000 travellers a day use its services.
