Big Green Coach, which says it is ‘the UK’s leading provider of sustainable coach travel to major events,’ has announced the launch of the first electric vehicle to be used on its ‘regional coach network.’ The company says the zero-emission vehicle will be added to the official Tottenham Hotspur Football Club coach service, providing more eco-friendly transport for fans.
The vehicle will be a Yutong TCe12, and it will transport football fans between Maidstone, Hempstead Valley, Gillingham, Dartford Bluewater and the Tottenham Hotspur stadium from the beginning of the 2024 season. Big Green Coach says it aims to add more electric vehicles to its services in future, and that since 2021, it has been working with UK charity Ecolibrium to offset carbon emissions and invest in environmental restoration. Big Green Coach director Danny Newby said: “As the owner of Big Green Coach, a company with such a profound focus on environmental sustainability, and an electric car driver myself, being able to offer electric coaches has been a dream of mine for many years. It has taken a few years for the electric vehicle revolution to hit the coach market but now that this is starting to be possible, I am absolutely delighted to be able to make use of this amazing, green technology. It’s also apt that Big Green Coach is offering these initially to our Tottenham Hotspur stadium services, as the club is recognised as the Premier League’s greenest club for a fifth year running. We also look forward to extending the use of electric coaches across festivals and major music concerts that we are the official coach partner for.”
The launch coincides with the start of Big Green Coach’s sixth season as Tottenham Hotspur Football Club’s official transport supplier.
