The city of Vilnius has taken delivery of 24 new Altas Auto EV buses, designed for high density urban areas with narrow streets. Launched by operator Kautra, the electric minibuses have electronic card readers and can accommodate 22 passengers. The new vehicles are low-floor making for easy access for the disabled and elderly. “Vilnius is turning a new page in the history of public transportation and is rightly proud, because these 100% electric buses, manufactured in Europe, are still the rare breed. The serial production has been started in our Vilnius factory, so watch out – in a few years, residents of Riga, Tallinn, Helsinki, Stockholm, Oslo and many other European cities will be enjoying our sustainable and modern electric vehicles, too,” manufacturer Altas said.
