When CBW’s Richard Sharman asked me if I fancied an away day to Bedfordshire to cover an electric bus launch, I must admit to being rather surprised. He knows that I’m a traditionalist, fond of the familiar and also work for an independent operator: usually the last in the queue to be able to financially justify the most modern tech. However, I can only assume I’m one of many looking nervously at the future and that is the very reason he asked me to attend. So with my sceptical operator hat firmly on, I headed off to the UTAC Millbrook Proving Ground.
