Emergency First coach on way to Ukraine

Emergency First is preparing a Scania OmniCity and a Mercedes-Benz Citaro to take humanitarian aid to the Ukraine. The organisation has received helped from Ipswich Buses, Go North East and Pelican Bus & Coach. The OmniCity’s role will be as a blood donation point on the Polish/Ukranian border, whilst the Citaro is currently being converted to a mobile operating theatre by Pelican Bus and Coach to form part of a field hospital.

It is hoped that Ipswich Buses’ OmniCity 972 will depart this week full of humanitarian aid and donated items such as mattresses and bedding, warm clothing, baby milk and dry food. Ipswich Buses depot served as a drop-off point for those wishing to make a donation.
Berkhof Excellence-bodied Volvo B10M M786 NBA left the UK on Saturday for the Ukraine with medics, volunteers and humanitarian aid on board. Organiser Wayne Bell said he would be happy to hear from anyone in the industry who could offer further assistance with Emergency First’s
response to the crisis in

Ukraine. There may be a requirement to evacuate refugees with Transit or Sprinter sized minibuses in the coming days, he said, and appealed for anyone who could supply such vehicles to get in touch. He can be contacted at contact@emergencyfirst.org or via the organisation’s Facebook page.

The coach is seen having the liveried applied. Blue flashing LED lights were then added. WAYNE BELL
