The English Riviera in Devon is to be promoted in a new short film aimed at the UK travel trade. Filming will take place in early October 2021 at tourist sites across Babbacombe, Torquay, Paignton and Brixham. The film aims to encourage groups and coach parties to return to the region. Arranged by the English Riviera BID Company working in conjunction with travel trade specialist Steve Reed Tourism of Hampshire and Devon-based Jay Stone Film and Videography, the short 12-15 minutes movie will be sent to coach and tour operators around the country.

Coaches and groups of visitors have always been very important to English Riviera tourism businesses including attractions, hotels, venues and hospitality, and it is hoped that the film will build upon that popularity in encouraging a rise in post-pandemic visitor numbers.

Carolyn Custerson is the CEO of the English Riviera BID Company. She said: “We are very much looking forward to capturing our beautiful resorts and terrific businesses on this exciting film. It will give extra confidence to tour planners that the English Riviera has everything they could possibly need for a successful group tour. A filming plan is currently being put together and this will include many of the well-known and much loved attractions such as for example, Bygones in Babbacombe, the Dartmouth Steam Railway in Paignton; Torre Abbey and Gardens in Torquay and boat trips to and from Brixham.”
