Falcon Coaches of Shepperton, Middlesex, has placed an order for three Scania K360 Irizar i6 coaches, which are expected for delivery in April this year.

The vehicles will be powered by Euro 6 9.5-litre 360bhp engines, coupled to two-pedal Opticruise transmission. Each coach can carry up to 53 passengers and the company has chosen half-leather upholstery for its seating, which will include three-point seatbelts.

The vehicles will carry a Bosch Professional Line multimedia system for passenger entertainment, which includes a multi-screen DVD player. Other passenger facilities include a centre sunken WC and coffee machine. The vehicles will be fully air-conditioned.

Other specifications include wood-effect flooring, powered continental door, pavement lighting, alloy wheels and a central vacuum cleaner.

Richard Telling, Managing Director of Falcon Coaches, told CBW: “We’ve already got three of these particular vehicles and they fit well with our fleet. The service and support we get with them is fantastic. The feedback we get about the look, ride quality and comfort is great.

“One of the vehicles is a fleet addition, while the other two are replacing older coaches. We expect them to be used on UK and continental tour work, along with inbound London tourism work.”
