Grangemouth, Scotland-based coach operator Fitzcharles Coaches ceased trading on Friday, October 2.

A total of 37 employees, including drivers, mechanics and office staff, were made redundant at 1700hrs.

Insolvency practitioner Nick Robinson, who had been called in by Directors Ronnie Fitzcharles and his sister, Olive King, said: “Unforunately the company has ceased trading effective from today (October 2) with the loss of 37 jobs.

“There will be a meeting of creditors within the next three weeks when Fitzcharles will formally be placed in voluntary liquidation. This is a very difficult time for the directors and their workforce.”

The company was founded in 1948 and provided coach hire, package holidays and day tours.
