Flixbus is expanding its operations in India, some seven months after it launched its first routes centred on Delhi, and has announced a new hub based around Bangalore in the south of the country. The new network will include six new routes covering 33 cities, taking the company’s operations in the country to 101 cities and 215 stops nationwide.
”Ever since our launch in February, we have learned so much and had an incredible response from both partners and passengers and now we are ready to take our Indian network to a whole new level,” the company said. “India is the world’s second-biggest bus market, so it has always been clear for us that we would want to tap into this immense potential here. In fact, with this new expansion, India is already surpassing many of the years-old mature networks we have. However, it is also a market with very high standards and requirements, and the learning curve has fostered innovations on a global level for us when it comes to our tech, including gender-specific seating, AI-powered customer service chatbot, and an improved station-finding tool.”
