In preparing for the growing demand over the Christmas period, FlixBus says its increased services will help to make it possible for people around the UK to prepare for the year-end celebrations and reunite with their loved ones. The operator said it expects the demand to grow as Christmas gift hunting continues and many head to shopping destinations, including on its up to eight daily departures in each direction between London and Birmingham. Other bigger hubs, like Manchester, Leeds, Leicester, Nottingham, Bristol and Sheffield are also connected to several domestic destinations. FlixBus is increasing frequencies between England and Scotland, offering a service seven days a week between Edinburgh and London during the festive period, and adding one additional service per day in each direction between Leicester and London.

The operator’s coaches will also be running on Christmas Day, Boxing Day, New Year’s Eve and New Year’s Day.

“By continuously growing our domestic network in 2021, we became part of the everyday life of many UK travellers. As always, we want to be there for our passengers on the days when it is the most important for everyone to reach their loved ones. We are proud that our team, local partners and the drivers share this important goal and are working passionately to bring everyone safely and conveniently to their destinations even on the festive days,” said Andreas Schorling, Managing Director of FlixBus UK.

The company provides direct routes between Heathrow Airport and several UK cities, such as Reading, Bristol, Cardiff, Bridgend, Swansea, Nottingham, Sheffield, Manchester, Bradford and Leeds. RICHARD SHARMAN
