FlixBus is continuing its expansion with the addition of new routes in the North and South West
FlixBus launched a new Manchester to York via Bradford service on Thursday 11 April. The route will also connect Manchester, where it uses the city’s Shudehill Interchange, with Leeds (Kirkgate) and terminates at York’s Leeman Road. The service will operate daily, and be operated by one of the new 49-seat Yutong GT12 coaches purchased by partner operator Belle Vue for its FlixBus commitments.
Andreas Schorling, Managing Director of FlixBus UK, said: “We’re announcing even more destinations, allowing passengers to enjoy the vibrant cities of the north and connecting people in the North of England through our ever-expanding coach network.”
Belle Vue has also been operating for FlixBus on services between Manchester Airport into Stoke-on-Trent and Birmingham since March, building on its daily services between Manchester, Leeds, Middlesborough and Newcastle.
Belle Vue Managing Director Phil Hitchen added: “We are delighted to expand our successful partnership with FlixBus and continue to grow the network connecting Manchester with more cities across the UK. Passengers can expect the best value for money, with the highest standards of comfort and service.”
FlixBus is also expanding its partnership with Cymru Coaches from 25 April, adding Bristol Airport as a new destination for passengers. The new service will operate five times a day between Bristol Airport, Newport, Cardiff, Bridgend, and Swansea.
Andreas added: “Adding Bristol Airport to our network is a key part of our strategy to drive forward our mission to be the largest coach network in the country, and we expect to see strong demand ahead of the peak travel season this summer. Following the successful launch of airport routes such as Heathrow, Gatwick and Manchester, this will be a major expansion area for us. Providing this new Bristol Airport coach service offers great value, low-carbon and convenient travel options for passengers.”
Swansea-based Cymru Coaches first partnered with FlixBus in summer 2022, and has taken delivery of a new Van Hool oach for its FlixBus work. Steve Pearce, Managing Director at Cymru Coaches said: “The success of our partnership with FlixBus has been exceptional, a real collaboration with ambition and dedication. We’re really proud to be growing with the travel tech brand, as its first operator to deliver Bristol Airport services for the network.”
