Flixbus is continuing its rapid expansion with new partner operators in the UK and plans for services in Mexico next year

Flixbus has added Prospect Coaches and Chalfont Coaches as new partner operators on its UK network. Headquartered in the West Midlands, Prospect will be the second operator in as many weeks to join the growing green coach network, following on from Northampton family-run firm Chalfont.

The latter has over 30 years of experience operating long-distance express services, and says its future is with Flixbus. Managing Director of Flixbus UK Andreas Schorling said: “Flixbus is bringing optimism to the industry, and the market has responded, seeing Flixbus as the best option in long-distance coach travel. We are delighted to welcome an operator of this experience and quality onto our network, as they deserve the healthy, rapid growth we can achieve together.”

The Northampton-based business will move to Flixbus this month with four coaches operating on routes to London, Leicester, Nottingham and Manchester, with eight more Chalfont vehicles set to be added in 2025.

Operations Manager for Chalfont Jack Loombes said: “We have decades of experience but remain hungry for growth, so we want to contribute to revolutionising the industry with Flixbus. This is a brand new chapter for our business and a move we all agreed on as a family. We of course did not take the decision lightly but it was obvious to us that Flixbus will become the largest coach network in the country.

“We already feel like we have a genuine partnership and have committed to expanding together in 2025.”

The company says it is now actively recruiting drivers to work on the Flixbus services.

Meanwhile, Prospect will initially add two Scania vehicles to the network, operating on services between Birmingham and London from 7 October. Eight more vehicles will follow in 2025. Managing Director of Prospect Coaches West Nathan Hadley commented: “Flixbus has impressed us with the rapid growth of the brand and the huge number of green coaches we see on the road.

“We could not ignore the innovation and advanced model Flixbus is bringing to the coach market, and the time was right for us to make the move. We are excited to expand the business and partner with Flixbus. The Flixbus team has a positive energy, they share our values and are the only option offering the growth that matches our ambition.”

“The rate of growth we are delivering is phenomenal and we have no plans to stop in 2025. We have plenty more in the pipeline as we continue leading the way in the coach industry,” concluded Andreas.
