Metroline’s own Routemaster was in action on the day. New in 1962, the bus toured the USA in 1963 visiting Philadelphia, Delaware and New Jersey, and it continues to have an AEC engine. KRIS LAKE
Metroline’s annual Potters Bar Garage open day took place on Saturday 28 July. A large number of vehicles were present, new and old, with many operating trips on no less than seven free routes running from the garage to places like Hatfield, South Mimms, Cuffley and Cockfosters. The most popular by far with visitors were the three open-top buses used. All donations went to a number of charities including Cancer Research and the British Heart Foundation.
