The UK’s largest annual coach and bus rally, Showbus, took place on Sunday 29 September at a new venue. Richard Sharman was in attendance to see how the new venue suited the vehicle gathering
The 47th annual Showbus rally was held last Sunday 29 September.
This event marked a new chapter for this popular vehicle gathering which has visited many locations since its departure from the Duxford Imperial War Museum, where it was popular due to the additional attractions of flying aircraft and static displays.
The good news is that the Hertfordshire Showground just might be the ideal new location for the rally. It has a large well-drained display area, it is next to the M1 motorway and this year the majority of stalls were undercover in a large marquee in the centre of the site.
Over 200 vehicles attended this year’s rally, ranging from a brand-new 69-plate ADL Enviro400CNG City from Nottingham City Transport to an AEC S dating from 1921.
