GM Coachwork’s Lynne Johns has worked her last day for the company, after 29 years of service.

Lynne used to live next door to CEO Dave Vooght when he took over GM in 1988. Dave asked Lynne to help him with the accounts for the business, which in those days involved mostly collecting receipts and keeping simple books.

After 29 years, the business is now a multi-million pound enterprise and Lynne has watched it grow from day one. Until four years ago, Lynne was the only person employed in accounts.

Nigel Collins, Joint CEO of GM Coachwork, said: “I am very upset to see such a lovely, hard working woman leave. I would like to wish her every happiness with her retirement.”
