A year after the switch to electric power as part of its Greenline electric bus project, Jonathan Welch travelled to Leicester to see how the city’s P&R is working

Back in issue 1518, I set out to trial two electric park & ride services; the newly-opened Stourton route in Leeds, and the long-standing Askham Bar service in York. Both impressed, the former with its new BYD ADL Enviro400EVs and the latter with Optare Metrodeckers. Being nearby and finding myself with a little free time, I decided to follow this up with a trip to Leicester, where Roberts Travel Group operates a fleet of bright green Yutong E12s serving three park & ride sites to the south-east, east and north of the city.
