Government Minister Jake Berry has praised operator Rosso’s development since becoming part of the Transdev family 18 months ago.

The move saw 240 staff and 102 buses join the Transdev team and guaranteed an immediate £3m investment in a fleet of 18 new high-spec buses, and funding for the refurbishment of a further 20 buses.

In this period, the operator has seen a 15% increase in patronage.

The MP for Rossendale and Darwen said: “The figures speak for themselves – Rosso’s success is outstanding, and it’s being achieved by hardworking people who are dedicated to delivering excellent customer service.

Transdev has transformed our services.

“In the last 18 months, the company has benefited from significant investment to improve the quality and reliability of its buses in East Lancashire and Greater Manchester.

The considerable experience of Transdev, a large and well-respected bus operator which has won several national awards, is clearly also helping Rosso to thrive.

“What a fantastic tribute to the investments this company has made in new buses with contactless payments, wireless charging, and still staffed by our friendly Rosso drivers every single day.”
