Bristol RE running day
Hampshire Bus Preservation (Rayner family) organised a mini Bristol RE Running Day in Winchester at the end of the season. The event was held on 4 November and paid tribute to this successful and popular model.
The REs in service had spent their main careers with Hants & Dorset, Southern Vectis, Provincial, Brighton & Hove (Southdown) and Ulsterbus, and a particularly pleasing aspect of the event was the high standard of driving and gear changing, which was clearly delighting participants on what was a very musical and charismatic model.
