The UK’s first Barbi Galileo HDH coach has arrived at Holmeswood Coaches. Supplied by the operator’s sister firm, dealership B.A.S.E, the coach was collected by Holmeswood’s Managing Director Francis Aspinall along with Group Engineering Director Mark Aspinall.

Both gentlemen said they have been delighted with the high quality finish and solid engineering in this launch model and it drove effortlessly from Barbi factory in Mirandola in Northern Italy back to Lancashire.

“The vehicle’s enormous luggage capacity of 18 cubic metres even when fitted with a PLS wheelchair system will make this vehicle a front-line touring model for both cruise line work and European tours during this season,” enthused B.A.S.E General Manager Nick Dodgson.

Asked about the specification, Nick replied: “Briefly, it consists of an MAN RR4 Euro 6 chassis with 480BHP on ZF AS-Tronic 12-speed with power intarder, cruise control and steering third axle. It’s also fitted with 480-litre fuel tank and independent front axle suspension.

“The 13.8m Galileo HDH model is 3.82m high and 2.55m wide. It is fitted with 61 Kiel seats on half leather luxury pack, Sutrak climate control and convector heating, plus Webasto as standard – along with fresh water centre sunken toilet, including hot water drinks for passenger comfort.”
