Stagecoach buses in Hull have been forced to divert services after a series of attacks made on buses in Orchard Park.

Hull Live reported that gangs of youths have been attacking the vehicles when they pass through the north Hull estate.

One woman had a metal object thrown at her through a window, and others have been left covered in glass.

Speaking at a city council scrutiny meeting, Matt Cranwell, Managing Director of Stagecoach East Midlands, voiced concerns that the attacks would drive away potential passengers.

“Along with the other operators we are getting together with the police to come up with solutions but obviously it’s not helping much in terms of giving people confidence in bus travel.”

With funding from the Home Office, Hull boxer, Tommy Coyle is launching ‘Boxclever Bus’ in Hull, a double-decker bus with a boxing training area, gym equipment and lounge area with a gaming section in order to combat the root problem causing this antisocial behaviour.

The bus will tour all across the city including the bus stop in Orchard Park.
