Peak District operator Hulleys of Baslow is to launch a new service between the cities of Sheffield and Manchester via Glossop and the A57, also known as the Snake Pass. The new Snake X57 service will start on Sunday 25 October, and also serve Hollingworth, Ladybower and Crosspool.

It will run 10 return trips per day Monday to Saturday, taking 90 minutes from end to end with a maximum fare of £8 adult single or £10 adult return between the two cities. Sundays will see five return journeys, whilst Monday to Saturday frequencies will be bolstered by routes X56 and 257 (renumbered from 275) which share common sections of the route at the Manchester and Sheffield ends respectively.
