Cleckheaton-based Arriva Bus & Coach, which supplies new Temsa and Van Hool coaches, announced at the Coach & Bus UK show at the NEC that it is now the exclusive dealer partner for Ilesbus.
Posting on social media on the opening morning of the show, Arriva Bus & Coach said: “We’re delighted to announce that Arriva Bus & Coach is now the exclusive UK dealer partner for the Ilesbus minibus range.
“This makes Arriva Bus & Coach the UK’s largest independent bus dealership and we are incredibly proud to offer our customers this fantastic range of minibus vehicles.”
The latest model to join the Ilesbus range, the Calista, was the centre of attention on the Ilesbus stand at the NEC show.
The Calista is looking to take on the market for larger midi-coaches, with 36 seats plus courier and driver.
Based on the Mercedes-Benz Atego chassis with the six-cylinder OM936 engine, the Turkish-built Calista has options for a 36-seater plus courier and driver to allow more legroom, whilst the 34-seat option will include a continental door and a toilet.
A further variant in development will be able to carry up to seven wheelchairs, with entry via a wheelchair lift.
Although initially available on the Mercedes-Benz chassis, a MAN TGL version will also follow, giving operators a choice of chassis manufacturer.
This news follows the first delivery of the restyled Temsa MD9 Max midicoach to Bourton-on-the-Water-based Pulham’s Coaches; the vehicle was displayed on the Arriva Bus & Coach stand.
It is the next evolution of the popular Temsa MD9 product.
