The company will take over responsibility for supplying parts for existing models and the new BD11
Having celebrated its 60th anniversary in 2024, specialist PSV parts distributor Imperial Engineering has been officially appointed as the primary distributor for all BYD electric bus parts throughout Great Britain and Northern Ireland. The agreement with the global electric bus manufacturer includes components for all single and double deck BYD e-buses currently in service, in addition to parts in support of the new generation BD11 vehicles that are entering the UK market.
From its stockholding and distribution facility in Harlow, Essex, Imperial Engineering says it is fully geared up to serve operators and already has a significant inventory in stock. The company says it has implemented a major warehouse management system upgrade
to support the BYD parts supply agreement and is introducing further measures to meet the growing demand from operators, as the popularity of BYD electric buses increases.
Alongside parts supply, Imperial Engineering says it is also on hand to assist operators with identifying specific parts for their vehicles, as well as providing technical support where required. Commenting on the new supply partnership with BYD, John Dwight, Imperial Engineering’s Sales Director, said: “We are thrilled to have been appointed as the primary distributor for BYD in the UK and we look forward to lending our expertise in support of the rapidly growing number of e-buses, as operators expand their zero emission fleets. BYD is one of the manufacturers that’s leading the way in the electrification of public transport and we are pleased to be providing our significant technical and logistics experience to support the provision of parts and aftersales service that customers demand.”
