West Midlands Coach operator InterChoice Limited, which had been offering coach trips for a quarter of a century and won a best operator award at the 2018 Group Leisure and Travel Awards, has entered liquidation, apologising to customers and creditors.
Director John Evitt, 63, said the business, which specialised in over-55s travel, was no longer trading, partly due to the impact of Covid-19, and clarified that the liquidation does not affect InterChoice Holidays, a related but separate company based in Sedgley.
He said InterChoice Limited had tens of thousands of pounds in liabilities and apologised to those it owed money, including customers who had paid for trips. He said he was very sad the company had failed, and that he hoped to make it up to customers in the future.
“As every business would, we apologise for the situation that it’s created,” he told the BBC.
Owner and director of Johnston Coaches in Rugeley Steve Lynch told the BBC that Interchoice Limited owed his company about £4,000, and that coach companies across the region were owed money, though that was disputed by InterChoice.
John Evitt said he had done everything he could to protect his employees and that he hoped former customers would continue to trust InterChoice Holidays.
