Jamiesons takes the title of most northerly coach and bus operator

All public services, schools and various other contracts of P&T Coaches of Baltasound, Unst, Shetland Isles, the most northerly operator in the UK, passed to RG Jamieson and Son of Cullivoe, Yell as of 1 January after more than 20 years of operation.

The company was formed in 1996 following the takeover of previous operator Mills of Baltasound, running public services as well as schools and shopper service throughout Unst, as well as owning the Final Checkout café, which is not affected by the takeover. Jamiesons now has three depots: one in Yell, an outstation in Lerwick, and now in Unst.

This makes Jamiesons the most northerly coach & bus operator in the country.

Lee Jamieson told CBW: “After taking over P&T Coaches from Pat Burns at the beginning of January we are very excited about what the future holds for our small family-owned business, which is approaching its 100th year anniversary.”
