Shetland operator John Leask & Son of Lerwick has announced that it will cease trading at the end of the summer season. Managing Director Peter Leask, grandson of founder John Leask, said that the decision to wind down the business and retire at the end of the season had been made last week, after much consideration.
“The company will close after all the local authority contracts come to an end in August, and once the tourist season is over, if there is a tourist season,“ Peter told the Shetland News.
A full profile of John Leask & Son is planned to appear in CBW next week.
