Top marks for respected firm in bi-annual Guild of British Coach Operators check

Johnsons of Henley-in-Arden has achieved a 100% pass mark from the British Guild of Coach Operators on their two-year audit last Wednesday (May 6).

Formed in 1985, the British Guild of Coach Operators represents over 20 of the UK’s top coach companies, including Johnsons Coaches. Membership is only open to coach operators who can demonstrate the highest standards in their operations. Every two years, the Guild performs an audit on each coach company and a 100% pass mark has to be achieved. Johnsons was judged on all aspects of its coach operations, including customer service, as well as the required compliance issues.

The Guild auditor commented that he was impressed from the moment he entered the premises at Liveridge House and could tell that Johnsons Coaches was a professional outfit and was pleased with its systems, skills and especially the welcome and friendliness he received from everyone.

John Johnson, Commerical Director at Johnsons Coaches commented: “We are delighted to have clearly met the very high standards required of all Guild members. The bi-annual Guild audit continues to provide an excellent benchmark for us, through which we can compare our procedures and best practice with other top operators in the country – and which helps us to deliver the very best standards to our customers. The 100% pass is an excellent endorsement for our hard working sales and operations team here and my thanks go out to them.”

The rigorous 44-point quality standards checklist ensures that Johnsons Coaches has honest and explicit descriptions of the coaches, an efficient bookings and sales process, written confirmation of bookings and hire terms, and effective maintenance procedures that exceed industry standards. The Guild audit also looks for coaches to be clean and well-presented, professionally trained and tested drivers and that operations are generally conducted in an environmentally sensitive manner.
