ITALY: Turkish manufacturer Karsan has delivered its 250th vehicle in Italy, which the company says is one of its main target markets. As part of a recently awarded contract in the country, Karsan delivered 12 new e-JEST minibuses to the Municipality of Florence (Città metropolitana di Firenze), with a handover ceremony taking place in the city’s Piazzale Michelangelo on 8 January.

The electric minibuses will operate services in the historic city centre within the city walls. Karsan CEO Okan Baş said: “We have delivered e-JEST, e-ATAK, and e-ATA models to 27 cities in Italy from north to south. During the tender performance tests in Florence, the e-JEST was highly appreciated and received full marks. Our vehicle successfully passed the challenging climbing tests and fits the city’s historic texture with its environmentally friendly structure, maneuverability in narrow streets, and silence.”

“We will continue to grow by strengthening our presence in Italy. We’ll continue to invest in 2025. Karsan is one of the most favoured brands in the electric transformation of Europe’s public transport.”
