Go-Ahead London has provided the biggest rail replacement bus service ever seen in the UK, to cover work on lines south of Three Bridges station. Robert Izzard reports

The nine-day closure from 16 to the 24 February over half term, of the Brighton Main Line between Three Bridges and Brighton and Three Bridges and Lewes has resulted in the biggest bus replacement service ever operated. Three Bridges lies between Gatwick Airport and Crawley and the closure involves the stations of Balcombe, Haywards Heath, Wivelsfield, Burgess Hill, Hassocks, Preston Park, Plumpton and Cooksbridge.
