By the early eighties he had built up a fleet of six coaches and brothers Derek and Paul Brown were now working in the business. Derek and Paul were still running N.C.B Motors until 28 February, Paul told CBW: “My brother Derek was looking to go into semi-retirement, so we thought this was the right time to sell. Derek will carry on driving contracts and I will stay on in an operational role.”

Eight vehicles in total will transfer to Lakeside ownership, along with 14 school and private contracts and all driving staff. The depot will remain under the ownership of Derek and Paul Brown and become an outstation for Lakeside.

The remaining fleet of Jonckheere and Plaxton-bodied Volvo coaches will be sold by the owners at an event on the 6 April, which will also include workshop equipment.

Vehicles will available to view by appointment prior to this date.
