Large TfL tender round sees Arriva scoop new service

The latest round of London bus tender results has seen gains for Arriva London North, CT Plus and London Central.

Arriva London North gained the 158 from Stagecoach East London.

The new contract, with a Peak Vehicle Requirement (PVR) of 18, will utilise a fleet of double-deckers with details to be confirmed.

The service, which operates 24 hours a day at weekends, will see its contract renew on 2 March 2019.

Arriva also won the contract for the 301, a new service which begins on 8 December 2018. The service has a PVR of 10 and will use 2010/11 Euro V double-deckers.

CT Plus gained service 20 from London General and will acquire new Euro VI hybrid double-deckers to run it (PVR 10) from 23 March 2019.

London Central gained the 178 (PVR nine) and 291 (PVR six) from Stagecoach Selkent. Both will use 2012 Euro V double-deckers and renew on 8 December this year.

A large number of retained routes were also announced.

Stagecoach Selkent kept control of the 54 (PVR 17, 4 May 2019) and the 75 (PVR 14, 27 April 2019), both of which will use new Euro VI double-decker hybrids, along with the 96 (PVR 24, 26 January 2019) which will use 2014 hybrids instead.

There was also a retention for Stagecoach East London – the 275 (PVR 13, 2012 Euro V double-deckers, 2 March 2019).

Arriva London North retained the 428 (unconfirmed number of 2010/11 Euro V double-deckers) and B15 (PVR six, 2009 Euro IV single-deckers), both of which renew on 26 January 2019.

It also retained the 123 (PVR 20 with 24-hour service on weekends, 2010/11 Euro V double-deckers, 2 March 2019).

Arriva London South kept the 689, which uses a single 2010 Euro V double-decker from route 250’s allocation.

The contract renews on 20 April 2019.

London Central was re-awarded the 244 (PVR 12, 8 December 2018) and B11 (PVR five, 26 January 2019), both of which will use 2010 Euro V single-deckers.

All Euro IV and V vehicles mentioned above will be upgraded to Euro VI emissions standards.
