Representatives from 17 UK coach tour operators and group travel organisers visited Melton Mowbray in Leicestershire from April 1-2, 2017, as part of a familiarisation tour of local attractions and venues
The familiarisation tour was co-ordinated and hosted by Leicestershire Promotions, with support from local partners. Attendees included representatives from Complete Pleasure, Lordship Leisure Groups and Belle Coaches.
The group stayed overnight at Sysonby Knoll Hotel & Restaurant and experienced a range of activities, including a guided food heritage tour, lunch at the Harboro Hotel, a pork pie making demonstration at Ye Olde Pork Pie Shoppe, cheese tasting at The Melton Cheeseboard, a brewery tour at Belvoir Brewery and dinner at Belvoir Alehouse, a tour of Belvoir Castle and gardens, and tour of Wymondham Windmill.
Martin Peters, Chief Executive of Leicestershire Promotions, added: “The familiarisation tour featured some of the highlights of Melton Mowbray’s offering for group travel visitors. We look forward to welcoming the operators, organisers and their groups back to Leicestershire when they visit again.”
