Four decades after its introduction, the Leyland Olympian is still clinging on in service. Jonathan Welch takes a look at the model and drives one of those remaining in daily use.

The Leyland Olympian, and its Volvo successor, was a staple of the bus scene for over three decades, and even as it enters its fifth a number of examples of the type continue to cling on in service with operators including, among the better-known ones, Confidence and Johnson Bros.
