Luxury Belgravia hotel teams up with art publisher for anniversary events
The luxury Halkin Hotel in London’s Belgravia is celebrating its 20th birthday with special anniversary events this September.
The art publisher Assouline is to create a pop-up Culture Lounge in the hotel’s bar. The Lounge will be styled as a library and feature some of the publisher’s new and limited edition coffee-table books. There will be a series of literary events in the lounge and guests and nonresidents will be able to meet some of the publisher’s authors.
The hotel will also create an anniversary afternoon tea menu for September and October featuring creations by Pierre Hermé Paris who was described by Vogue as the ‘Picasso of Pastry’. He recently opened his first London Macarons & Chocolats boutique in Lowndes Street near the Halkin.
The Halkin will also open three new 20th anniversary suites in September: two Como Suites and one Belgravia Suite on the second and third floors. The suites have been renovated to the highest standard and now include large spacious balconies overlooking the hotel gardens.
There will be three anniversary one-night packages for families, shoppers and gastronomes. The family package includes chocolate painting, dipping or chocolate bar making at Rococo Chocolates or a four-course dessert bar meal at the new William Curly Bar on Ebury Street. The gastronomy package includes dinner at nahm, the hotel’s award-winning Thai restaurant.
For shoppers, there is a bespoke perfume consultation with Les Senteurs, a ‘His & Hers’ experience including private appointments at De Vroomen jewellers and TomTom Cigars, and a ‘Belgravia Sybarite’ three-hour private shopping tour.
Prosper Assouline, the firm’s founder said: “This is our first London pop-up Culture Lounge. Such is significance we’ve chosen to work with a hotel which set a benchmark of luxury for London.”
