Sedgmoor South services on the M5 near Bristol has now fully re-opened after a £5m redevelopment. Operated by Roadchef, the stop is located between junctions 21 (Weston-super-Mare) and 22 (Burnham-on-Sea).

The redevelopment had seen the site partially closed for a number of months while the main building was extended. The site now features well-known brands, including a new Costa and Fresh Food Café, together with a Mcdonald’s Restaurant and SPAR convenience store. The SPAR also boasts an in-store bakery with fresh artisan bread and pastries baked daily, alongside products sourced from the local area.

Asked by CBW if any changes or improvements had been made in terms of facilities for coaches, a spokeswoman for Roadchef replied: “There is still a separate, dedicated coach park within close proximity to external seating and refreshment stands – and the access path from the coach park into the service area has been completely relaid.”

Regarding what the changes meant for coach drivers, the spokeswoman said: “For June we are offering £10 Captain’s Cash and free meals at Sedgemoor in line with the Captain’s Club membership scheme, as well offering all members a chance to win a £500 Love2Shop gift card simply by bringing their passengers in this month.

“Coach drivers calling in at Sedgmoor can now choose from fresh Food Cafe, McDonald’s or Chozen Noodle to obtain their meal benefits.”
