Derbyshire operator Macpherson Coaches of Donisthorpe has become part of Hugglescote, Leicestershire-based Roberts Travel Group.
Macphersons – the long-running family coach holiday and hire business – has been providing quality services since 1986. Over the years, the Donisthorpe company has taken many happy customers to all four corners of the UK and into Europe.
The move to team-up with Roberts Travel Group will mean it’s business as usual for staff and customers alike, as the operation now moves to Hugglescote, with the assurance of dealing with a local coach and travel company.
Roberts Travel Group currently holds an 85-vehicle O-licence, while Macpherson Coaches has an authorisation for 18 PSVs.
Jonathan Hunt, Managing Director of Roberts Travel Group said: “Our aim is to provide a good quality service that will see customers coming back time and time again, just like they always have with Macphersons. Customers who have holidays and day trip bookings with Macphersons will shortly be contacted by the Roberts Travel Group concerning their reservations.”
Asked by CBW about what was included in the acquisition, Jonathan replied: “We completed an asset purchase to include holidays, day trips, transfer or staff and some vehicles.”
Jonathan also informed CBW that the Macpherson name will continue following the completion of the deal, which took place on January 16.
Commenting on the news, Neil Macpherson, Managing Director of Macpherson Coaches, said: “We are really pleased to be teaming up with Roberts and feel we, our customers and staff will be in safe hands with Jonathan and his team.”
