Tootbus’s fleet is going green with help from re-engineering specialist Magtec. MAGTEC

Magtec has released its latest two open-top bus conversions for London sightseeing operator Tootbus. The team at Magtec stripped out the existing diesel engines from the double-deckers and equipped them with new zero-emission high-tech electric drive trains, alongside long-range 280kWh battery systems making them capable of travelling up to 150 miles on a charge.

Each bus will be operating hop-on, hop-off routes covering more than 70 miles per day in and around Westminster, returning to the depot every night with plenty to spare.

Tootbus commissioned Magtec to re-engineer the buses as part of its commitment to reduce the environmental impact of its operations. “We’re proud to be promoting sustainable tourism with UK innovation,” said the company.
