A new Derbyshire Dales Bus Rally is planned for Father’s Day this year. Organised by Nottingham Heritage Vehicles Charity (NHVC), the event is set to take place at Peak Rail, Rowsley, on 18 June. Discounted return train travel along the Derbyshire Dales line to Matlock will also be available to visitors, and classic bus rides will be operating to Bakewell among other destinations throughout the day.

Said NHVC spokesman Simon Lowings: “We are delighted to be staging this new event, which gives us the chance to hold an event away from our Nottingham base, spread our wings and meet new people.”

Simon is looking at organising other new events in the future. Stalls are welcome at the Derbyshire Dales show, and full details of the event and Nottingham Heritage Vehicles Trust, which has a fleet of preserved local vehicles housed in a former Trent bus depot at Hucknall, Notts, can be found via its website at nottinghamheritagevehicles728.weebly.com.

Meanwhile, the Chesterfield 123 Group and Transpire has moved its Peak Park Heritage Bus running event to the original Chatsworth site – to be held on 4 June. Details of that event can be found at peakparkrally.wordpress.com.
