The swarm of bees took up residence at First’s RailAir stop in Reading

A beekeeper who was fined for driving in a bus lane on his way to remove a swarm of bees from Reading railway station has said he ‘had no choice,’ and is demanding an apology from the borough council.

Chris Gittins was called out urgently by First in June to take care of the hive, which was located in a bush by the RailAir coach service stop used by passengers travelling to Heathrow Airport.
