Go North West has announced plans to get behind the city’s re-opening as more lockdown restrictions are lifted, and the company says it is is gearing up to help people return to enjoying Manchester. Nigel Featham, Go North West Managing Director, explained: “The lockdown has given everyone a new appreciation for what Manchester has to offer, and we want to lend our backing as it starts to re-open. We know everyone wants to see the city get back to where it was and we are here to play our part in making that happen.”
The company is sponsoring a major campaign highlighting the readiness of businesses from across the city – including shops, bars, restaurants and markets – to welcome people back. A double-decker bus with specially designed exterior artwork paying tribute to everything great about city life has already hit the streets and promotional adverts will be unveiled across Manchester.
Nigel added: “We’re also putting in place two major fares initiatives. We’re introducing new ‘Flexi’ three, five and 10 day season tickets to support workers who are making a gradual return to office life. And we are reducing all evening fares to £1 after 1900hrs, so people can head out for less and start getting back to doing the things they’ve really missed.”
The ‘Manchester, we’ve proper missed you’ bus will be seen on Go North West routes all across the city, and the Flexi and £1 evening tickets are now available on all of the operator’s buses and app respectively.
