BELGIUM
As the event nears, major European manufacturers are highlighting what they will have on show at the forthcoming BusWorld exhibition and trande fair in Brussels this October. Iveco Bus will unveil its vision of carbon-free mobility and showcase its sustainable and zero-emission product line-up plus its comprehensive range of services.
On its stand and in an outdoor display, Iveco Bus will have 11 vehicles on show, representative of its full line covering every need, from urban, intercity and excursion buses to minibuses.
The stand will focus on emission-free mobility and the vehicle display will include the e-Daily minibus and chassis, E-Way New Generation, Streetway Elec and Crossway LE Elec, all powered by the latest NMC battery technology industrialised specifically by FPT Industrial, the powertrain brand of Iveco Group.
The manufacturer will also show how its vehicles are integrating the new Advanced Driver Assistance Systems, ADAS, compliant with the European General Safety Regulation that will come into force in July 2024. Its stand will also host the brand’s Energy Mobility Solutions division, offering new dedicated services to support customers in transitioning their fleet to full electric, including custom-configured electric buses together with batteries, chargers and infrastructure to optimise every electromobility project, and Iveco ON, the brand’s connectivity services offer designed to cover every area of customer operations from effective management of the electric fleet to optimise its energy consumption and performance, to enhancing the operator’s life in the management of its fleet.
In the outdoor area, six Iveco Bus alternative-drive models – full electric, natural gas and biomethane, hybrid – compliant with energy transition requirements will also be available for static presentations and test drives: the E-Way in 9.5m and 12m form, an Urbanway CNG hybrid in 18m articulated form, a Crossway Low Entry CNG hybrid, a Crossway and Evadys.
Daimler Buses
Meanwhile, Mercedes-Benz will for the first time display its eCitaro Fuel Cell in 12m single-decker format, whilst its ‘big brother,’ the articulated eCitaro G Fuel Cell, will be available for test drives, having already successfully proven itself on a test drive across the Alps. The eCitaro will also be present, of course, equipped with the latest NMC3 battery generation and performance package.
Fans of the Setra brand also get their money’s worth at the event, as the manufacturer marks the trade fair premiere of the new Setra MultiClass LE 500 – a versatile intercity bus in low-entry design that can also be used as a city bus and, says Setra, impresses with its tireless endurance. The new Setra MultiClass S 518 L three-axle overland giant, with a length of 14.5 meters, will also be available for test drives in Brussels.
Both of the Daimler brands place a lot of weight on safety. At Busworld, they will be showcasing a whole range of new and further improved assistance and safety systems, starting with the new emergency braking assistant Active Brake Assist 6 (ABA 6) for coaches and high-floor buses, through to Preventive Brake Assist 2 for low-floor buses. All bus types from Mercedes-Benz and Setra, whether city buses, intercity buses or coaches, will also in future be available with MirrorCam as an option.
Finally, the manufacturer’s service brand Omniplus will have a presence, showing its new and proven service solutions and its focus on sustainability, security and digitalisation.
Yutong & Isuzu
Another manufacturer looking forward to the show is Yutong, where it says it will unveil four of its latest pure electric high-end products and YEA technology at the exhibition. The four models will be the U11DD, the first of which is destined to arrive in the UK soon, plus the T15E, U18 and E7S.
Meanwhile Anadolu Isuzu is preparing for a grand launch of its Novo Volt electric bus, a vehicle which the manufacturer says represents its dedication to eco-friendly and sustainable solutions in the transportation industry, taking a big leap towards a future with zero-emissions.
The company will be showcasing other Isuzu vehicles as well, including its medium-size NovoCiti Volt, Isuzu Kendo CNG and Grand Toro, as well as the 12m Citivolt.
