St Fort and Glenrothes-based Moffat & Williamson has chosen Mellor for an order of seven new Strata low floor buses.
These Strata LF vehicles have been specified to carry up to 22 passengers at a time with space for up to two wheelchairs. The vehicles will be used on urban services, town services and school contracts.
George Devine, Managing Director of Moffat & Williamson, said: “Mellor has been our supplier of choice for a smaller vehicle on this occasion. We were referred to them by another operator.
“The buses we have ordered will allow us to provide transport to passengers in a variety of locations around the local Fife and Dundee area.
“These buses will be easily accessible for wheelchair users due to their low floors and fold out ramp. They are the perfect addition to our fleet because they have been engineered to negotiate narrow roads and housing estates where turning and manoeuvring can be challenging.
“The fuel economy and operational performance of the Strata far exceeds those of larger buses which was an attractive selling point. We are also aware of the need to improve air quality and these vehicles show that the company is committed to providing low floor, low carbon, Euro VI standard vehicles and we plan to run them for many years to come.”
Area Sales Manager for Mellor (North Scotland & Ireland), Tony Kerr, added: “We are delighted that Moffat & Williamson have chosen Mellor for this fleet investment, and glad we could offer them the vehicles they were looking for at a competitive price on a tight deadline. We’re confident they will prove popular with their passengers and drivers alike.”
