Angela Youngman spoke to Director of Lucketts Travel – and ‘Services to the Coach Industry’ gold award winner – Ian Luckett about his company’s ongoing growth and the industry as a whole

Relaxing on holiday after a busy year as President of the Confederation of Passenger Transport, Ian Luckett suddenly received a text from his sales director who was attending the 2018 UK Coach Awards. The text informed him that he had just won a Lifetime Award, recognising the contribution he has given to the industry beyond the call of normal duty. Other texts of congratulations from industry colleagues soon followed.

“I was really surprised. I had no knowledge that this was going to happen. I was on holiday and was not even there to accept it. As we were up for other awards, several of our directors were there and my Sales Director accepted it for me. I do struggle a bit with the lifetime achievement, as my time in the industry has not ended! It is very nice to be recognised. I don’t seek to be in the limelight, it is more important to me that my business and the industry is successful because that gives me a comfortable lifestyle,” he commented. […]
