Three Beulas coach bodies are to be offered on VDL running gear from 2018, Moseley has confirmed. The mid-height Cygnus, the super-high Mythos and the Glory interdecker will all be built on VDL units for the UK market, complementing the existing MAN-based offering.

The Spanish-built coaches will be offered on VDL’s two-axle SB4000 and tri-axle SBR4000 chassis – the first example being expected to be delivered to the UK by June.

Karl Moseley told CBW: “We’re actively welcoming customer enquiries now. Eight chassis have been ordered. We have restricted availability due to the body slots at Beulas.”

Asked what had driven the decision to offer VDL-based Beulas models, Karl replied: “In short, it’s customer demand. We’re also DAF agents at Moseley PCV, so we can do warranty and we’re an existing importer for VDL. I have always wanted to offer Beulas on VDL too.”

In a separate development, Karl revealed Moseley is “now taking orders for the Indcar Mago 2 for April 2018 delivery.”

As reported in last week’s issue, the Iveco-based Indcar midicoach is set to make a return to the UK market – the left-hand drive version displayed on the Moseley stand at the recent Coach & Bus UK show having attracted significant interest.
