This Crossley ‘Mancunian’ built in 1934 is the only surviving Manchester pre-war double decker, and it owes its survival to being converted for use as a static caravan in Shropshire for many years. A very substantial rebuild is in progress, likely to take the best part of the next decade, but work is well underway – at the moment, work is concentrating on replacing rotten steel body pillars and fabricating new window pans.
