Lucketts has upgraded its coach wash with a Smith Bros & Webb system.
Mark Jordan, Lucketts’ Group Engineering Director, said: “In the past 10 years, our old machine completed 98,000 washes and rolled the equivalent of 3,000kms (1,864 miles).
“As a result of this investment, we now re-use 60% of water when washing our coaches which dramatically cuts our water use and saves us money. It works by reclaiming the water through the underground drainage system and then pumps it back into the wash to use again.”
The new coach wash is part of an ongoing investment plan that has also seen £2.3m spent on new vehicles since the start of the year, plus the addition of staff at all levels of the business.
