Newport Transport has launched two new Enviro 200 low floor buses in Chepstow. The firm invested circa £200k in the vehicles which entered service on Monday June 17 and are dedicated to Chepstow Town services.
Since the beginning of this year Newport Transport provides five services in Chepstow three of which are operated commercially. The new vehicles are DDA compliant, with E-leather seating and audio & visual (AV) destination announcements. The installation of AV destination announcements is part of an official commitment signed by Newport Transport agreeing to install all new vehicles with this technology.
Scott Pearson, MD at Newport Transport. said: “At Newport Transport we understand the importance of accessibility of our services and are dedicated to delivering a high quality service in all areas of our network. Since the launch of our Chepstow Town services in the beginning of the year we have seen a 5% increase in passenger number and we hope that the new additions to our fleet will see this growth continue.”
